In line with Ministerial directives issued on May 17, 2020, regarding the planning of University activities for Phase 3 of Italy’s COVID-19 response (September 2020 to January 2021), the University of Verona will have to manage classes in such a way to ensure the safety of students, thus requiring social distancing measures to be guaranteed on campus.

Considering these requirements, the University of Verona is currently preparing for on-campus teaching in the Fall semester as indicated at the following link: https://www.univr.it/en/coronavirus-info-docenti

• Fall semester students: they can participate in online coursework and/or on-campus teaching where available, if they still intend to perform a physical mobility. Should they prefer to defer their mobility, we would of course facilitate their change to Spring 2021.

• Full year students: they can participate in online coursework during the Fall, which they will follow from their home country. They should expect to continue with their studies in Verona in the Spring, should the circumstances allow students to attend classes normally as of February. Otherwise, if they still intend to perform a physical mobility, they can come to Verona and participate in online coursework and/or on-campus teaching where available. Another option could be to shorten their mobility and come to Verona for the Spring semester only.

We would also like to remind you that even if we are planning to organize teaching activities such a way, we are also prepared to conduct teaching as another online semester if necessary. Whether or not exchange students will be able to do the semester completely online can unfortunately only be decided on very short notice before the beginning of the classes

We all hope that the circumstances will be such by February 2021 to be able to reopen our campus normally to welcome international students, and to provide them with the type of study abroad experience in Italy they expect.
