As you may be aware of Italy is one of the countries at global level with main incidence of coronavirus infection, mainly focused in the North-center regions. In the Abruzzo region, where the University of Teramo is located, so far only few cases have been evidenced (https://lab.gedidigital.it/gedi-visual/2020/coronavirus-i-contagi-in-italia/?ref=RHPPTP-BH-I250268567-C12-P2-S1.8-T2 ) and not of primary origin.

The Italian Ministry of Education and Research (MIUR) has imposed the compulsory closure of the Universities, University of Teramo included, for all the activities related to teaching and training of students until 15th March.

The University of Teramo has addressed this health alert since the early stages and already taken actions to promote a correct information; information about the measures of protection and actions to be taken in case of the symptoms have been already disseminated and made public in all the facilities for students and staff. All information has been addressed based on those delivered by the Italian Ministry of Health and the local health authorities.

Despite the closure for teaching, the University of Teramo is open and active for all the administrative services, working according to the regular working hours while hygienic precautions are always taken.

It is our commitment to monitor carefully the infection trend along with all the relevant information issued by the Italian and World Health authorities; students will be regularly informed in the upcoming period about any action planned in order to limit the impact of this forced closure on their educational plan.
