Comunicats de la TU Dublin - School of Languages, Law and Social Sciences

Comunicat 24-07-2020

Here is a link to general information for international students from the Irish government: https://tudublin.ie/media/website/study/international-students/M12755---EDUCATION-IN-IRELAND_Infographic-FINAL.PDF. For updates from TU Dublin please check this link: https://tudublin.ie/covid19/ . It is highly likely that a blend of online delivery and face-to-face teaching will be part of the mix for all students in semester one. But as new information about the virus is frequent, we are keeping a watch on any changes in the advice that comes from the Irish government. You can check the TU Dublin webpage for Erasmus students for any news or changes to our plans here:

To help you complete your learning agreement and to give you some background information about being an Erasmus student at TU Dublin I am attaching the incoming student handbook. The handbook is almost 400 pages long! The first 23 pages give an overview of general information about studying at TU Dublin. The rest contains descriptions of the modules offered in the International Business and Languages (IBL), Languages and English Studies (LES) and Languages and International Tourism (LIT) programmes run by the Department of Languages. We can offer you English for Academic Purposes (EAP) and Irish Cultural Studies modules worth 5 ECTS credits each per semester and a wide range of English, Irish, French, German, Italian, Spanish and Chinese language, literature and culture modules, as well as a number of international business and tourism modules. So that it is easier to understand, I am also attaching the lists of  international business and tourism modules as separate files. Please note: not all modules will be on offer in September 2020 so you will need to be flexible about the modules you select on your learning agreement.

If you are a student of Business Administration you may require more business modules than we can offer on our IBL programme so we have an arrangement with our colleagues in the TU Dublin College of Business which allows our incoming Erasmus students to choose additional business modules from their catalogue. Places are limited and students are restricted to choosing a maximum of 15 ECTS credits per semester or 30 ECTS credits for the full year from this catalogue. The catalogue and information about the College of Business modules are attached.

Students of Tourism should look carefully at the tourism modules on the attached file. You may only choose modules from one stream. If this information is changed or updated I will let you know as soon as possible.

With very best wishes,
Susan O'Shaughnessy
