President of the French Republic has announced the closing of the universities as of next Monday, March 16th and until further notice.

The objective of this decision is to reduce the spread of the Coronavirus (Covid-19) and its effects on the health of populations.

Consequently, students from the Université de Lorraine will no longer be able to access campuses and university premises as of Monday, March 16th.This lockdown applies to teaching and research facilities, university libraries, administrative services, as well as all premises for university life: sport, culture, catering, clubs ...

As of this Monday, March 16th, all face-to-face teaching activities will gradually switch to distance learning mode, be postponed or canceled. The university’s digital platforms and electronic means to allow students to continue their studies will be used under the best possible conditions given the circumstances.

The Université de Lorraine will get back to the students as soon as possible to answer other questions (teaching methods, internships, exams, associations ...).

The main interlocutors for the students will be those responsible for the course and component directors. The President of the University thanks the students for being patient and for waiting for the information to come before requesting it: the Université de Lorraine is indeed awaiting further information from the Ministry of Higher Education , Research and Innovation. The university strongly advises its students to stay connected to its various media, to regularly consult the Factuel news site (http://factuel.univ-lorraine.fr/coronavirus) and to download the Université de Lorraine app on dedicated platforms (Apple or Android).
Here is a reminder on the essential gestures to be carried out on a daily basis to prevent the spread of the virus:
  • Wash your hands regularly
  • Cough and sneeze in your elbow
  • Use disposable tissues
  • Do not shake hands
  • Call 15 if symptoms appear
  • Stay at home if you are sick
