Greetings from the University of Southern Denmark. We hope this finds you well in difficult times. With this we would like to give you the latest update from Denmark.

The Danish government has last night imposed new measures in the fight against the spread of Covid-19 in society and these will affect us all:

• All public schools and institutions will be shut down from 12 March to 27 March
• All universities will be physically closed for both students and staff in that period
• All gatherings of more than 100 people will be cancelled
• Travel activity is to be kept to a minimum
• All shops, pharmacies etc. will continue to operate normally
• We are all encouraged to show social responsibility and minimize social gatherings during this period

All students have received this message today:

 Please rest assured that we at SDU International will continue to be there for you and your students. We will be working from home, answering both e-mail enquiries and telephones as usual. As always we can be reached at:

• Students are encouraged to pay good attention to the messages they get regarding their individual courses, home assignments etc. via e-learn. SDU works consistently on finding solutions for the execution of the individual courses and students will be expected to study from home, provisionally for the next two weeks.
• There is information available about Covid-19 and precautions to take on our web-site:  My SDU (for students) and SDU main page. In addition, all students and employees have received e-mails with information and recommendations on how to prevent and minimize the spread, and what to do if you feel sick and have been in a situation where you may be affected.

We understand that in this situation it can be difficult to be far away from home and we will do our best to alleviate the situation.

As we stand together in the fight against Covid-19 all over the world, we kindly ask you to bear in mind that Denmark has a very highly developed health care system. The preventive measures taken by our government are taken now, in good time, to make sure the spread of the Covid-19 disease is delayed as much as possible, so that our health care system can continue to provide the best care for all who need it.
