Comunicat 30-03-2020

Dear Partner,

Greetings from the University of Stuttgart.

The coronavirus outbreak (COVID-19 caused by the novel coronavirus SARS-CoV-2) is constantly evolving worldwide. As students are currently planning their international mobility we would like to update you on the situation at the University of Stuttgart.

The university management is in close contact with the relevant departments in the Federal Ministry of Health and is monitoring the development of the situation daily.  The university has put up a general university website concerning the coronavirus, where you can find all the important information regarding exams, lectures, symptoms etc.: https://www.uni-stuttgart.de/en/university/news/corona/.

The Ministry of Science, Research and Arts has postponed the start of the summer semester. Lectures for the summer semester are expected to start after April 19, 2020.

We suggest that those students already staying in Stuttgart do not use the 2 weeks suspension to go travelling but rather stay in Stuttgart and at home and avoid social contacts as much as possible.

Those students who have already studied in Stuttgart during the winter semester have received an e-mail with information on the situation, please see the attachment.

Given the current situation we would strongly recommend that students postpone the exchange program by one semester. Your students are certainly welcome for winter semester 2020/2021.

We regret this situation and thank you for your understanding.

Kindest regards

Ms. Marion Hoecke
