Àrees d'aplicació:
El grup de recerca “Enginyeria de Fabricació” està format principalment per personal pertanyent a l'àrea de coneixement d'Enginyeria dels Processos de Fabricació, i les seves línies de treball han estat orientades a l'estudi dels processos de conformació de peces i assemblatge, així com tot conjunt d'activitats d'automatització, control, planificació i explotació dels sistemes de fabricació per a una producció per lots (discreta). Totes aquestes activitats s'han abordat considerant els punts de vista tecnològic i organitzatiu, tenint en compte tant els objectius (flexibilitat, agilitat, qualitat, manteniment, sostenibilitat) adoptats pels diferents paradigmes de fabricació, com la seva integració amb l'enginyeria de producte. Actualment, els esforços del grup se centren en l'estudi dels processos de conformat per fabricació additiva basats en impressió 3D (FDM) i en el desenvolupament de models per a la implementació del bessó digital d'un sistema productiu per simular-ne i optimitzar-ne el funcionament.
