    Dr. Jorge García-Cañadas did his PhD (2006) at the Photovoltaic and Optoelectronic Devices Group at the Universitat Jamue I (Spain) in the preparation and characterization of electrochromic devices and dye-sensitised solar cells. He was contracted (2007) as R&D Manager by the spin-off company Xop Física S.L, to lead the development of new semiconductor-based moisture, conductivity and temperature sensors.

    In 2011 he joined Cardiff University where he was involved in the fabrication of thermoelectric modules for high temperature energy harvesting applications and the development of new characterization techniques for thermoelectric materials and devices. In September 2015, he returned to the Universitat Jaume I and joined the Polymers and Advanced Materials Research Group at the Department of Industrial Systems Ingeneering and Design. He leads in this Group the Thermal and Electrical Systems Labotarory (TESLab), which performs research activities focused on thermoelectric devices and electrochemistry, as well as the development of instruments for the measurement of thermal properties. He has been the principal investigator or different regional, national and european projects (e.g. UncorrelaTEd), the inventor of several patents, and co-author of more than 50 articles in international journals.
