    Vicente Herranz Pérez és Llicenciat en Biologia i Doctor en Neurociències per la Universitat de València. Va desenvolupar la seua tesi doctoral a l'Institut de Biomedicina de València (CSIC), on va treballar en la caracterització de LGI1, gen responsable de l'epilèpsia lateral temporal autosòmica dominant (ADLTE, per les seues sigles en anglès). Durant aqueix període va ser beneficiari d'una beca BEFI de formació en recerca de l'Institut de Salut Carlos III, i va realitzar una estada pre-doctoral en el Montreal Neurological Institute (McGill University, Canadà).

    Des de 2011 treballa en el Laboratori de Neurobiologia Comparada de la Universitat de València com a investigador post-doctoral, finançat pel Centre de Recerca Biomèdica en Xarxa sobre Malalties Neurodegeneratives. La seua recerca en aquest període ha estat enfocada en l'estudi de la neurogènesis i els processos de proliferació, migració i integració en el cervell adult. En 2016 va dur a terme una estada post-doctoral en el Institute of Molecular Medicine (Nagoya City University, Japó). És autor de 24 articles científics en revistes indexades, compta amb 32 contribucions en congressos, i ha participat en 12 projectes de recerca.

    Està adscrit a la Unitat Predepartamental de Medicina de la Universitat Jaume I des del curs 2016-2017, on imparteix docència en el Grau de Medicina com a Professor Associat Laboral. També ha impartit docència en el Màster en Neurociències Bàsiques i Aplicades de la Universitat de València. Està acreditat per l’ANECA com a professor contractat doctor.
