The Vicerectorate for International Cooperation and Solidarity gives scholarships to students from developing countries who have the support of a NGO.
It is advertised in September.
Universitat Jaume I does not give grants directly to undergraduate/graduate students in this University. In spite of this, Jaume I takes part academically and economically in the programme MAE Scholarships and in Alban programme.
1. UJI's and Banco Santander scholarships for Latin American students

There are 3 types of grants:
3.1 To cover the enrolment fees up to 2000 euros
3.2 Enrolment fees and travel aid up to 3.500 euros
3.3 Full Grants up to 7000 euros with the commitment to act as future tutors of the local students at partner universities
The Spanish Agency of International Cooperation (AECI), which depends on the Spanish Foreign Office gives aids to students from Latin America, Europe, Africa and Asia, who are not already living in Spain, for the following types of studies:
A. Short-Time scholarships for studies of Spanish language and culture:
1. Summer scholarships courses of Spanish as a foreign language, the study of spanish culture and civilization in public and private spanish universities (one month, between July and September) for students and teachers of Spanish in foreign universities and cultural Spanish centers, as well as for North American teachers of Spanish with Hispanic origin.
2. Scholarships for foreign Hispanists in order to research in Spain.
B. Scholarships to foreigners for postdegree and specialization studies:
Scholarships for foreign citizens but not from Latin-American countries, preferably fom developing countries and with economies in transition

Two general conditions: candidates should not be living already in Spain when applying and they must have the pre-admission of the department in order to apply for the scholarship.
3. Scholarship programme Alban (students from Latin America)
Scholarship programme of the European Union for students from Latin America who want to study postgraduate, doctorate and high specialization studies in European universities. The European Commission publishes between September and December the call of the Alban Programme for the following academic year. Students can benefit of scholarships from 6 months until 3 years of duration:

4. Scholarships for citizens from United States
A. Fulbright scholarship
Commission of Exchange Spain-Fulbright Scholarships.
Scholarships of nine months in order to carry out individual studies or in a team in areas of interest for Spain and United States. Applications are admitted in all the fields both from last year students and from graduate ones. They are financed by the governments of Spain and of the United States.

B. Federal Student AID
Universitat Jaume I has been certified by the Department of Education of the United States as an eligible institution in order to receive students with a Federal Student Aid. The north-American citizens who want to study undergraduate and postgraduate studies at Universitat Jaume I can request the Federal Family Education Loan. 5. Scholarships for citizens from Canadà, British Columbia
Universitat Jaume I has been recognized by the Education Department of British Columbia as an eligible institution in order to receive scholarship holders from this Canadian region

6. Scholarships for Southamerican and Caribbean students
The Japan-IADB (Inter American Development Bank) offers grants to South American and Caribbean students to study in universities of Europe, US, Canada, and Central America through the North Hemisphere Program. It is meant for postgraduates with a degree in social sciences, public administration, business administration, or any other discipline related to development. As well it would be convenient to have a work experience of two years.
The application forms will be distributed each year in Mars. The dead line to hand in is about the 15 of May and the selection will be in July.

7. Scholarships for citizens from Mexico.

8. Erasmus Mundus (Interuniversitary Masters)
Erasmus Mundus is a postgraduate programme of the EU with scholarships for students from non-European countries. The aim of the programme is to motivate and make possible that highly qualified bachelors and academics from all around the world can get experience and qualifications in the European Union.
There are two kinds of scholarships within the framework of Erasmus Mundus: the first one in Action 2 and the other one in Action 3.

Those who are from the third countries and have legally lived in a country of the EU for at least three years can participate in these scholarships too.
For the application, the students have to contact the university organizing the Master or the European Commission’s Education and Training Head Office.

The postgraduate scholarships are meant for the training in Spain of undergraduates who come from any country member of the Iberoamerican Community of Nations, and who have both high academic and/or professional skills guaranteed by an excellent curriculum. Under the framework of the twelve areas of knowledge in which the Fundacion develops its activities that are established according to the training necessities of Latin America, the programme offers two forms of support, scholarships and support for the study.
10. International programme of the Ford Fundación scholarships (IFP programme)
The IFP programme provides funds to foreigners for Master or Doctoral studies, for duration of a maximum of three years. The funds given by the IFP programme cover the tuition fees and the pre academic training, health insurances, subsistence allowance, study material, books and support for the trip.
11. Scholarships from Fundació General de la Universidad
In September this Foundation of Universitat Jaume I offers joint scholarships with Fundació Caixa Castelló-Bancaixa to fund the enrollment fees of Master students of UJI.
