Estudiem les propietats d’estructures algebraiques i/o topològiques. Si bé, en principi, la nostra tasca es desenvolupa en el context de la ciència bàsica sense considerar les possibles aplicacions, es pot mencionar que algunes de les estructures que estudiem són essencials en la teoria de la informació, especialment en el tractament de dades, incloent-hi la codificació d’informació i criptografia.
