Equipment

LARP has sufficient equipment to ensure a high standard of work, and to be able to apply existing analytical methods as well as developing and validating methods for new pesticides, following requirements of Council Directive 91/414/EEC.

LARP ensures it has qualified personnel, as well as appropriate facilities including equipment and materials for residue analysis of pesticides. There are specific laboratories for the receipt of samples, preparation of analytical standards and the treatment of samples, and facilities for the storage of all samples and reference materials. Laboratories have specifically designated uses and therefore equipment appropriate for each activity. It is important to emphasis that the equipment used for GLP studies is state of the art in this field.

Equipment includes:

• GC-MS, GC(Agilent 6890) with Multi Purpose Sampler (Gerstel) injector and PTV (Gerstel); MS(Agilent 5973) quadrupole
• (LC)-LC-MS/MS, LC(Waters 2695), MS triple quad (Micromass Quattro Micro) with “Z-spray”, interfaces ESI; quantitative analyses
• LC-MS/MS, LC(Waters 2795) with “Z-spray”, interfaces ESI and APCI Sabre; MS triple quad (Micromass, Quattro Micro)
  

Other equipment available to complete non-GLP projects:

• GC with ECD, NPD, FID, FPD detectors
• GC/MS with mass spectrometer, ion trap
• GC/MS with mass spectrometer quadrupole, allowing work in an impact (positive and negative) electronic and chemical ionisation mode
• GC/MS, GC (Varian CP-3800) with automatic injector (CP-8400) and PTV (Gerstel); MS(Varian 4000) Ion trap
• GC-MS/MS, GC( Agilent 6890) with automatic injector (HP 7673) and PTV (Gerstel); MS(Micromass) triple quad
• GCT, GC (Agilent 6890) with automatic injector (Agilent 7683) and PTV (Gerstel); MS(Micromass) time of flight
• HPLC with UV-visible, diode array and fluorescence detectors
• LC-MS/MS, LC(Waters 2695) with “Z-spray”, interface ESI; MS (Micromass) triple quad.
• LC-QTOFMS LC (Waters 2695) with “Z-spray” source; ESI interface and MS quadrupole time-of-flight hybrid (Micromass QTOF)
• ICPMS (HP 4500). Able to be coupled with HPLC (HP-1100) or GC (HP-6890) 
• Spectrophotometer AA (VARIAN) with flame (SpectrAA 640), graphite furnace (SpectrAA 880Z) and vapour generator (VGA77)
