    The Agora

The Agora on the Riu Sec Campus has become the centre of University life. The Agora is a semicircular, arcaded area where the services that are common to all the University are to be found. It offers access, on the one hand, to the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences and, on the other hand, to the two buildings situated to each side - the Library and the Rectorate and Central Services building.

The centre of the Agora is an open-air amphitheatre, which at the same time constitutes the endpoint of the central boulevard of the UJI's botanical gardens. The amphitheatre is the ideal setting in which to stage different open-air performances and cultural acts. Around the Agora, you can find 16 shops, a number of cafes and restaurants, a gallery (Galeria Octubre) and a bank, as well as different student association centres and other University services.

The different commercial enterprises that have opened premises in the Agora now offer the University community a series of services that, up to now, could only be obtained by going into the town centre.

    University associations

Being a member of the University community does not mean you are only coming here to study, work or while away the hours in the refectory. There are also other things you can do at the University, such as travelling, practising a sport, making new friends, singing, playing a musical instrument and other kinds of activities that are available to everyone. The students on some degree courses even organize activities to promote their own department.

This page offers a list of the Students' Associations that currently meet at Universitat Jaume I and which are lawfully constituted and registered as such. These associations meet to carry out activities that run parallel to their university work but which, at the same time, offer them the chance to have fun, to learn and to prepare for a career related to their studies.
