General data protection policy

Universitat Jaume I is firmly committed to ensuring the privacy of all data of a personal nature about the members of the university community and, in general, all users of the institution’s information systems. To this end, the University has introduced all the technical and organisational measures required to protect such information.
The personal data gathered, either by telematic or any other means, shall not be used for any purpose that is not related to the activities carried out by the University.

Disclosure of personal data shall only take place in the manner and in compliance with the restraints and rights stated in the Organic Law 15/1999, dated 13 December, on the Protection of Personal Data (LOPD). More specifically and unless otherwise required to do so by current laws and regulations, Universitat Jaume I shall not disclose data to any other company or organisation without the express consent of the person involved.

Our policy concerning the protection of personal data may vary due to possible changes in the law or the guidelines issued by the Data Protection Agency but these changes would only be introduced in order to bring the policy into line with current law and with the guidelines established to protect users. In any case, full information about any such changes to be introduced would be posted on this site.
