Rooms
for group work
The Library has specific rooms available for group work for groups of 2
to 6 people. Disabled users can use room number 04 in the Media Centre
which has been specially adapted for these users. To be able to use
these rooms, users need to do the following:
- Reserve a room on-line at the following web page: Reserve
rooms
- Go to the loan desk on Level One and request the key to the
room. Users must present their student’s card.
Rules that apply
- The rooms for group work may be used by a minimum of two
people who must leave their student’s cards at the Library
control point when they are to occupy the room. Those students who do
not have a student’s card could vouch for their
student’s status by filling in a registration form and by
presenting some form of identification (national identity card, driving
licence, etc.). Students may print this form in the Media Centre
- The maximum time students may occupy a room is 3 hours a
day, although this period may be extended provided no-one else has
reserved the room previously.
- If students are unable to use the room they reserved, the
reservation may be cancelled. Restrictions will be applied to students
who cannot occupy a reserved room and who do not cancel their
reservation when they wish to reserve another room in the future.
- If a reserved room is not occupied 15 minutes after the
established time, this reservation will be automatically cancelled and
the room may be used by other groups.
- FREEnet connection (Wi-Fi and sockets) is available in all
these rooms.
- Student’s card holders are responsible for the
correct use of the room they reserve. Only the maximum number of people
in a group is allowed to occupy the room. Furthermore, users must not
raise their voices, eat, drink or smoke inside the room, they must use
the items inside the room with care, leave things as they were, and
they must switch off their mobile phones.
- Using these rooms for purposes that are not normal Library
uses and damaging any equipment may entail users no longer being
entitled to use the Library, without prejudice to adopting the
appropriate disciplinary measures.
- The Library staff are authorised to temporarily withdraw
personal items left in the rooms for group work of those users who have
completed the established periods of use.
- Those users who do not return the key of the room they
reserved in the established time will not be able to use this system
over a 15-day period.
