Home Loan Service
Loan modalities
• Graduates, or undergraduate students, which also include exchange students or students from other universities to study at UJI: up to 5 documents over a 15-day period, which may be renewed once, provided they have not been recalled.
• Postgraduate students, lecturers and researchers who have been invited to UJI, and retired staff: up to 10 documents over a 15-day period, which may be renewed once, provided they have not been recalled.
• UJI teaching staff, UJI administration and service staff and FPI-type scholarship holders: up to 75 documents over an indefinitive period unless they have been recalled by another user, in which case they would have to be returned to the Library in a 7-day period.
A special loan period is set up for non-term periods, the conditions of which will be published on the UJI web site.
Certain types of documents cannot be borrowed (journals, encyclopaedias, works that are difficult to replace and some reference manuals).
Loan requests
To request to loan a document, simply go to the Loan Section where you can provide your own personal details and the details of the document you wish to reserve.
Users may consult the catalogue status of the document they are interested in to know if it has been returned. If it has been reserved, users may check the user information screen to see if the document is available, in which case they may collect it at the loan desk.
Documents may be reserved for a 24-hour period (excluding weekends and holidays).
The reservation modalities are:
• Undergraduate students: up to two reservations
• Postgraduate and doctorate students: up to three reservations
Loan service at the Universitat Jaume I off-campus offices
The Universitat Jaume I Library also has a bibliographic material loan service at its various off-campus offices (seus). Users who are interested in borrowing a book at these offices may consult its availability by checking the Library catalogue. If the book is available, they may request the loan service through the person in charge at their nearest off-campus office. Books arrive at these offices on Thursdays and users may borrow books for a week after which they must return them personally to the person in charge at their nearest office.
