Digital camera loan service

The Library has a digital photo and video camera loan service available for Universitat Jaume I students of courses whose lecturers have requested this service beforehand.

** Before requesting the loan, the lecturer of the course shall contact the Library and provide the list of authorised students and the start and end dates of the activity they need the camera for.

Users have to bring their own memory card, DVD or other consumable material they need to use.

Terms of use

• To request the loan of a digital camera, the user has to read, fill in and sign an application form that is available at the Library Administration and Direction department (Level 5). Once this form is ready and signed, the user has to hand it in together with his or her Universitat Jaume I card as a deposit.

• The digital camera loan and use is for academic purposes only. Users who have a loan sanction shall not be allowed to use the cameras.

• Digital cameras have to be borrowed from and returned to the Library Administration and Direction department from Monday to Friday between 9 am and 2 pm.
  

• Users are allowed to borrow digital cameras for a maximum period of three hours, which can be extended if necessary.

• Digital cameras are loaned in perfect working condition. Should users notice any malfunction or defect in the cameras, they simply have to report it to Library staff and fill in the corresponding incidence form.

Sanctions

The following sanctions will apply in the circumstances detailed below:

• A. The digital camera or its accessories are returned late.
  Sanction: the user cannot loan digital cameras during a 10-day period. If the user acts in the same way again, the sanction is extended to one month. If these circumstances occur a third time, a B type sanction will apply.


• B. The camera is returned with malfunction or defects after it has been used.
  Sanction: the user is suspended from this service for one academic year.


• C. The user does not return the digital camera or its accessories or the device presents serious malfunction or defects after it has been used.
  Sanction: the camera is to be replaced with another one with similar features.
