    Degree in Industrial Engineering

The word engineering means "to generate, create, project, think up or search for the way to...".

All these concepts outline what is seen to be the art of applying scientific knowledge to the invention, perfection or use of all kinds of techniques concerning the technical aspects of manufacturing processes within the field of industry.

Industrial engineering studies are now a well-established tradition. In the 150 years since their inception, they have made major contributions to the technological development of society.

The task of industrial engineers is to transform the findings of scientific and technological research into processes that can be applied to industry, as long as these findings prove both viable and productive. Thus, industrial engineers are responsible for the various processes involved in the transformation of raw materials into finished products.

These studies examine diverse areas of industry in depth: Mechanics, Electronics, Electricity, Chemistry, Metallurgy, Textiles, Robotics and Industrial Organisation.

The general training industrial engineers receive enables them to work in a variety of areas such as production management, purchasing management, machine maintenance, mechanical and electrical machine design, automatisation and control, development of projects on industrial buildings and installations, urbanism, and so on. Their training means they are highly valued in their professional capacity by small and medium enterprises, which cannot afford to hire a specialist in every area. Moreover, these studies provide the student with a sound foundation, enabling him or her to continue learning once they are in work, and become valuable specialists in any technological or management field.
